Here you’ll find our standard plumbing and gas fitting rates, including minimum charges and after-hours pricing for residential and commercial work. We provide plumbing and gas fitting services across all Auckland suburbs, including East Auckland, Central Auckland, South Auckland, West Auckland, and the North Shore.
Call-Out & Minimum Charge
Our minimum charge is $150 + GST, which covers the first 30 minutes on site plus travel time (up to 15 minutes travel there and back).
If extra travel time is required, or if we need to return to the same job, travel is charged at $40 + GST per return trip.
Plumbing Labour Rates in Auckland
Plumbing labour is charged at $120 + GST per hour, calculated in 15-minute intervals ( $30 per 15 minutes).
Senior Plumber and Gas fitting labour is charged at $140 + GST per hour, calculated in 15-minute intervals. ( $35 per 15 minutes).
Senior-level work carries greater certification, responsibility, and safety obligations. A senior tradesperson ensures the job is completed correctly the first time, helping avoid delays or rework and delivering better value overall.
Plumbing & Gas Teams (Two-Person Crew)
Martin Plumbing typically operates with two-person crews per van.
This allows work to be completed faster, more efficiently, safely, and with less disruption.

Minimum charge at $150 applies per van and covers the first 30 minutes of labour for the crew attending.

If work extends beyond the included minimum time, labour is charged at the applicable hourly rate or team rate.
Plumber & Apprentice Team (2-person crew)
Charged at $185 + GST per hour, calculated in 15 minute intervals ( $46.25 per 15 minutes).
Plumbing Team (2-person crew)
Charged at $225 + GST per hour, calculated in 15 minute intervals ( $56.25 per 15 minutes).
Time is billed from arrival on site through to completion, including material collection, job notes and required documentation.
GASFITTING CERTIFICATION
It is a legal requirement that gasfitting work is certified. Certification confirms the work has been completed safely and in compliance with regulations.
Certificates are provided to customers and retained by our company for a minimum of seven years.

(e.g. like-for-like appliance replacement) -
High-risk gasfitting: $95 + GST
(e.g. additions or alterations to existing installations)
after hours & emergency Services
Emergency plumber Auckland pricing minimum charge of $295 + GST applies for after-hours call-outs. This includes the first 30 minutes of work on site, along with up to 30 minutes of total travel time (15 minutes each way).
If extra travel time is required, or a return visit to the same job is needed, additional travel will be charged at $40.00 + GST.
After-Hours Labour Rates – Weeknights from 5pm & Saturdays
Plumbing labour is charged at $150 + GST per hour, billed in 15-minute increments per plumber.
Gas Fitting Labour is charged at $175 + GST per hour, billed in 15-minute increments per plumber.
Time is charged from arrival at your property through to departure and includes time spent sourcing materials and completing required job documentation.
After-Hours Labour Rates – Sundays
Sunday plumbing labour is charged at $175 + GST per hour, billed in 15-minute increments per plumber.
Gas Fitting Labour is charged at $195 + GST per hour, billed in 15-minute increments per plumber.
Charges apply from arrival on site until departure and include time spent collecting materials and completing job documentation.
SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT
Some jobs require specialist equipment to complete the work safely and effectively. Where required, the following charges may apply in addition to labour:

Waste Removal & Disposal
Where materials or fittings are removed from site, a disposal charge may apply:

Small quantities (e.g. taps, filters, small fittings): $10 + GST

Medium quantities (up to 0.5m³, e.g. toilets, basins): $20 + GST
Larger quantities of waste removal will be discussed and priced by agreement.
Parts, Materials & Consumables
You will be charged for all parts, materials, and consumables used on your job, plus any applicable delivery fees.
Sundries, Administration & Vehicle Fee
A Sundries, Administration & Vehicle Fee of $39 + GST applies once per invoice on jobs that exceed the minimum charge.
This fee helps cover the everyday costs involved in completing plumbing work properly and includes:

Standard sundries and consumables used on site, such as sealants, fixings, tapes, lubricants, cleaning materials, and protective items

Administration and compliance requirements, including job notes, photos, certification records, and invoicing

Tools and equipment upkeep, ensuring we carry and maintain the equipment needed to complete work safely and efficiently

Service vehicle costs, including insurance, registration, maintenance, and the cost of carrying specialised tools and materials
Fuel and travel time are only charged separately when additional travel or return visits are required after the initial minimum call out visit.
This fee is charged once per invoice, not per hour or per tradesperson.
